Description
Who is this course for
This course is for anyone who wants to improve their maths and does not have a Grade 4/C or above at GCSE.
Entry Requirements
No previous qualifications are required, although a Level 1 or Level 2 Functional Skills Maths qualification is highly recommended. The course tutor will assess students in the first weeks of the course to ensure it is at the right level for them.
How you will learn
The course will be a mixture of tutor-led activities, individual and group work. There will be regular independent assignments and homework will be set every week. The course will follow the GCSE Mathematics syllabus at foundation level with AQA examination board and will cover the topics of number, algebra, statistics, measurement, shape, and space. You will also be able to self-assess your progress and achievement. To further support your learning, you will be given access to a student email and a 365 account as well as a login to our online learning platform which will be individually tailored to your needs. You can access these tools at home and use them to reinforce your learning and skills.
What you will need
You will need a file to organise your work, pen and a large pad of lined A4 paper. If you enrol for an online class you will need access to a laptop/computer and a stable broadband connection. There are some laptops available for students to loan. Ask your local centre for more information.
