Description
This course will help you to maintain or improve your mental health and wellbeing. Learning can be fun, boost your self-confidence, self-esteem, help to find meaning and purpose in life, and connect with others. Take some time to relax, unwind and improve your mental wellbeing. These sessions offer a friendly, informal and supportive environment.
As part of Derbyshire Makes, learners will contribute to a collection of creative work for a public exhibition in Spring 2027. No previous experience is required.
Who is this course for?
Brightside is for anyone experiencing mild to moderate mental ill health. Brightside courses give you the tools and support to manage your worries and live a happier, more balanced life. Our Tailored Learning courses are for people who live in Derbyshire aged 19 and over.
This course is ideal for anyone who enjoys being creative, wants to meet new people, and would like to contribute to a Derbyshire Makes community exhibition in Spring 2007.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. The course offers a safe, welcoming space to learn self-care techniques that work for you; help to manage stress and anxiety. There will be practical activities with guidance from your tutor. Your tutor will give you support and feedback, so you know what to do to improve.
There will be opportunites to develop new skills, build confidence, and contribute to a Derbyshire Makes project that will be showcased in a public exhibition in Spring 2027.
What will I need?
Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy. You may wish to wear an apron. You may want to bring something to make notes.
Are there any other costs?
There is a £10 cost for this course which is to cover the material fees.
We hope you will want to move onto another Brightside course, if appropriate, or progress onto other learning with us. Please talk to your tutor or centre staff who will be happy to help.
