Description

Junk Journalling is the process of creating a journal by reusing materials and a variety of papers. In this six week course comprised of six, two hour sessions, you will learn how to create a journal, exploring themes, use of colour and how you would like to use your finished journal.
You will learn how to make ‘signatures' and bind your journal and will learn how to decorate your journal and make pockets and envelopes for the inside pages. You will develop your creative skills while improving your mental health and wellbeing and will get to make your own choices throughout the sessions.

Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you are interested in journalling, bookmaking and are creative. It is also for those who would like to improve their well-being by learning mindfulness through creative expression and for those who wish to engage with their community and like-minded people. Our courses are for people who live in Derbyshire and are aged 19 and over.

How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course which will introduce you to junk journaling, what it is used for and different themes. The tutor will guide you and prompt you through explanations, examples and demonstrations. You will work individually but as part of a small group and will be able to continue to work on your journal at home. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.

What will I need?
The tutor will supply all resources but you may want to bring some of your own too, if you have them, eg. scissors, photographs, magazine images and patterned papers.

Are there any other costs?

This session is free and there are no other costs.

You may wish to move onto another appropriate course with us once you have completed this course. Your tutor will talk to you about possible appropriate options.
