Curious about learning guitar and boosting your wellbeing at the same time? This relaxed and welcoming series of taster sessions is the perfect place to start. In this short introduction, you'll experience how simple guitar playing and mindful music activities can help you feel calmer, more focused, and uplifted. You'll try out a few easy techniques, explore sound and rhythm at your own pace, and get a feel for the supportive, no-pressure approach of the course. No previous experience is needed—just bring yourself and a willingness to give it a go. Whether you're completely new to guitar or returning after a break, these sessions are all about enjoying the moment, connecting with music, and taking a positive step for your wellbeing.
Who is this course for?
This course is for you if you would like to improve and maintain your mental wellbeing. Our courses are for people who live in EMCCA region aged 19 and over.
How will I learn?
This is a classroom-based course. There will be practical activities with guidance from your tutor. The course will be a mix of tutor-led activities, individual work and group work. Your tutor will give you support and feedback so you know what to do to improve.
What will I need?
Guitars will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you have one. You may want to bring something to make notes.
