Have you ever wanted to learn more about the role of a Counsellor? Would you like to explore the helping skills, active listening and key knowledge and other skills that are essential to developing in the role of a Counsellor? You might want to improve your own listening skills for your own development or for your professional development.. This short course explores the essential skills which are crucial for roles in care, support, or therapeutic settings.
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who has an interest in moving into a career in Counselling or a similar role or simply would like to improve their skills.
How will I learn?
You will learn informally in a classroom within a small group. You will be supported to progress at your own pace. You will learn using a variety of different activities including discussion in small groups, watching videos and practicing skills.
What will I need?
You may wish to bring a pen and notebook so that you can make your own notes.
Your tutor will talk to you about future options that may be suitable for you including different pathways into Counselling or alternative courses.
